Fairkey Home Buyers was founded by Jason Vander Woerd after more than 15 years working in the construction industry, where he spent countless hours around people’s homes and saw the realities most companies never talk about. Jason witnessed firsthand how quickly life can change for homeowners—whether through financial stress, health issues, inherited properties, major repairs, difficult tenants, or simply feeling overwhelmed and out of options. Too often, he saw people being rushed, pressured, or made to feel embarrassed about the condition of their home or their situation.

Over time, Jason became increasingly frustrated with the high-pressure sales tactics he observed in parts of the real estate and home-buying industry—where speed and profit came before understanding and respect. He knew homeowners deserved better. Fairkey Home Buyers was created to be a calm, honest alternative: a place where people can slow down, ask questions, understand their options, and make decisions without pressure.
